Eurocargo now operates under the name of Gebrüder Weiss
Gebrüder Weiss acquired a majority stake in the business in November 2009. As from 17 December 2010, Eurocargo officially operates under the name of the Austrian transport and logistics service provider.
On 12 November 2009, Gebrüder Weiss took over more than 75% of the freight forwarder Eurocargo, which meant a further step towards expanding its network in Southeast Europe. The official merger of the two companies took place at the Eurocargo terminal in Dobanovci on 1 January 2010. The takeover process is now concluded with the change of the company name. As from
17 December, Eurocargo operates under the common name of Gebrüder Weiss.
The common company name is the logical consequence of our cooperation. We are happy to be under the group umbrella and to ensure a unified corporate identity by using a common name,” says Country Manager Dragan Simovic.
Wide scope of services
Currently, a staff of 130 people is employed at the Dobanovci location. They offer a broad scope of services, e.g. domestic and international transport of general cargo, air and sea services, distributions and procurement solutions, customs clearance with own border offices and services in the field of warehouse logistics including hazardous goods. The terminal, featuring a 6,000 m2 high-bay warehouse, is one of the most modern logistics facilities in Serbia.
